The eruption cloud in the background is continuously ejected and can travel hundreds of kilometres with the wind. After larger eruptions (like the one at Pinatubo volcano in 1991) the world climate can be seriously altered by the ash particles. Also, it is then causing richly coloured sunsets all around the world.
